As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the school experience for both students and parents, we're delighted to share some exciting developments from Global Café, IS HCMC’s dedicated school canteen provider.
Here are the latest updates:
1. MyCampusCard: Simplifying Online Payments
We are pleased to share that we have made great steps in improving our payment system with the introduction of MyCampusCard portal. With this update, you can now top up and recharge your MyCampusCard account online using ATM, Credit Card, and popular online payment apps like Momo, VNPay, and more. Our aim continues to make managing your cafeteria expenses even more effortless, giving you greater control at your fingertips. Overall, we are thrilled to announce the popular uptake on the MyCampusCard. In August, we recorded that 72% of our community are enjoying the system and in September, this figure went up to 78%!
While we've already made significant improvements, we acknowledge there's more work to be done. In the near future, we aim to provide easy access to images and detailed nutrition information for every item on the menu, giving you greater transparency and insight into your child's daily meals. We are working with the software providers to add additional features/updates to enable easy access but in the meantime, all this information is available under the “information” tab on the main home screen.
2. Speeding Up Service: A Slice of Success
We are also happy to share that we have been hard at work reducing queue times in the Global Café, and the results are in. The longest queue time recorded was at Secondary and happens to be for our most popular “make your own Wrap” station, now averages just under 8 minutes during peak service times with 82 meals served in 22 minutes (approximately 3.7 customized wraps provided per minute). We will continue to monitor queue times and keep looking for ways to speed them up.
We're dedicated to continuing to optimize the flow to ensure that your child can enjoy their meal without unnecessary delays.
Serving Times for Each Campus During Peak Service:
Primary
Grade 1-2 Lunch time - 12:30pm to 1pm
Recorded time lunch was actively served - 12:30-12:40 pm
130 students/staff served in 10 minutes = 13 served/minute = a student/staff served every 4.6 seconds
Grade 3,4 & 5 Lunch time - 1pm to 1:30pm
Recorded time lunch, drinks, & snacks actively served - 12:58-1:25pm
363 students/staff served in 27 minutes= 13.4 served/minute= meal served every 4.5 seconds
Secondary
Secondary Lunch time: 12:20pm to 1pm
Recorded time lunch, drinks, & snacks actively served - 12:19-12:42 pm
539 student/staff served in 23 minutes = 23.5 served/minute = a student/staff served every 2.55 seconds

3. Diverse and Nutritious Food Options
Choice is key when it comes to dining, and we are continuing to expand our menu to cater to various preferences and dietary needs. Our commitment to health extends to introducing a broader range of nutritious options rich in essential nutrients. In August, we are pleased to share that the total variety of items, food and drink, available was 423!
4. A Day at Global Cafe: Taste & Talk
We really value our community’s feedback, and we're excited to share that we would like to involve parents in shaping the canteen experience. We would like to therefore invite you to A Day at Global Cafe: Taste & Talk – a lively and interactive session where we invite parents to taste the selection of foods on offer at Global Café, share their thoughts, and help us improve our food selection and overall experience.
