The Grade 9 Mandarin class used the compass tool and iceberg tool to analyze why the restaurants tend to provide plastic utensils then they started writing an email in Chinese collaboratively(4 students on campus and 5 students online) to a Chinese restaurant in town to address why the restaurant should not provide plastic utensils and what alternative items they could use. They also included the prices for paper straws and flour straws as alternative ways to convince the restaurant why these are more sustainable and marketable in the long run.
