Dear Parents,
At ISHCMC we cultivate empathetic, energized and curious minds, igniting a lifelong passion for learning and achievement. Our dedicated educators foster a supportive and inclusive environment, empowering every student to thrive as engaged and resilient global citizens in our rapidly evolving world.
Our teachers empower every student to thrive as engaged and resilient global citizens in our rapidly evolving world by focusing on each child's achievement and academic excellence, balanced with their social-emotional wellbeing. Our teaching teamensures every child is being appropriately challenged and working towards achieving their personal projected growth.
A Clearer Picture of Student Achievement
In response to the Voice of Parents, this year our teaching team has prioritised sharing more detailed academic achievement data during parent-teacher conferences. For our primary school parents, age-specific assessment data was shared to ensure a clear understanding between parents and teachers of each child's current level of achievement and project growth for the school year. Our teachers shared interventions they planned to implement to support and extend each child's learning and shared strategies with our parents that can be used at home to help your child’s education. In our secondary school, our parents have access to their child's ongoing continuous assessment and feedback via SEQTA, the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) data, and the opportunity to discuss these in more detail with teachers during parent conferences. Our teachers are available to answer your questions and provide support. If you have questions, please contact your child(ren)’s teachers anytime.
Our progressive educational approach, underpinned by the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, encourages students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively. By integrating inquiry-based learning and experiential education, we empower students to become active learners passionate about their studies which leads to academic success.
Supporting Personal Growth through POSISH
In addition, research shows that for our learners to self-actualize or reach their full potential, we must collectively ensure that each child feels a strong sense of belonging to the ISHCMC community and has high levels of social, emotional, self-regulation, meta-cognitive, and intercultural competencies. Our Positive ISHCMC curriculum focuses on systematically building these skills and our students' readiness to learn. As this programme is now in its second year of implementation, we are very interested in seeking your feedback so we can ensure that it continues to be responsive to our students' needs. Therefore, we invite you to complete a short survey specially focused on our Positive ISHCMC programme.
We prepare our students to become confident, compassionate, and booming global citizens by nurturing academic and social-emotional skills. We are proud to be a school where students can reach their full intellectual and emotional potential.
In kindness and service
Kim Green, Head of School
