Dear ISHCMC Families,
Welcome to our 31st year providing high quality teaching and learning experiences to our Ho Chi Minh City community. As we are about to embark on our new school year we are excited to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm welcome to all of the new families joining our ISHCMC community. We trust that everyone has had a wonderful break, connecting with extended family, exploring and re-energising in preparation for our new school year.
This year, our school community embraces our core value of curiosity as a guiding pillar intertwining it seamlessly with our commitment to global citizenship and high quality teaching and learning.
Informed by our Voice of Students, Voice of Parents, Voice of Employees, our CIS Survey and the outcomes from our CIS/NEASC/IB Evaluation Visit in December 2023 we recognised that in a diverse community, we need to all continue to increase our intercultural competency to ensure people feel valued, engaged, belong and have agency. At the heart of global citizenship lies a profound curiosity around identity and the way each of us experience and interpret the world around us. As we cultivate intercultural competencies, we empower ourselves to take meaningful actions that enrich our immediate community. By standing against inequity, exclusivity, and discrimination, self-expression and personal growth will thrive. Through intentional actions that honor identities, embody learner profile attributes, and promote ethical service to local and global communities, we foster environmental sustainability and social justice. In doing so, we embody the essence of global citizenship, embracing curiosity as a catalyst for positive change in our interconnected world.
By focusing on balancing our commonalities and differences we can truly be Global Citizens. We look forward to building our intercultural competency capacity as a community of Global Citizens over the next year.
In kindness and service
Kim Green - Head of School
