The traditional Tet atmosphere embraced both Primary and Secondary campuses of ISHCMC, bringing forth a wave of joy and excitement. Vibrant colors of red and yellow set the stage for a celebration, while engaging activities created a memorable experience for everyone involved.
ISHCMC Primary campus kicked off the Tet celebrations with an enchanting Vietnamese Dragon and Lion dance, symbolizing the strength for the Year of the Dragon. The rhythmic beats of drums and cymbals echoed through the air, creating a spirited atmosphere that captivated kids and parents alike.
At our primary school, a variety of meaningful activities unfolded to welcome the unique customs of Tet.
Under the guidance of teachers and professionals, children and parents also participated in rattan weaving workshops, led by experienced artisans; coin fortune-telling, and crafting vibrant paper lanterns. Laughter and cheers filled the playground as families bonded over traditional Tet games, parents guiding their little ones through the activities and creating cherished memories.
Over at the Secondary campus, the school transformed into a lively space. A fascinating drum performance by talented students set the rhythm for the day, followed by a captivating dance showcasing the elegance of the traditional ‘áo dài’. Their dancing performance received a long applause due to their effort in creating choreography.
Later on, the cheers grew louder as students competed in classic Tet games like tug-of-war and word puzzles, embracing Vietnamese cultural heritage in a spirit of friendly competition.
Activities leading up to the Tet holiday not only provide a traditional educational experience but also contribute to building a friendly environment. The festivities align with ISHCMC's mission, encouraging students to transcend barriers and join in the festive spirit of Tet.
Just like the fire-breathing creature, we're curious and ready to face whatever comes our way. Tet reminds us to stick together, learn from the past, and look forward to the future with hope and strength.
