We invite you to join our ISHCMC Community at our 9th annual Sting-a-thon! This is an incredible event, where swimmers of all ages come together to celebrate the start of a new season and to raise money for a worthy cause. This year we are raising money for the Ho Tram Water Safety program, a local charity that is committed to reducing the high incidence of drowning in Vietnam. The foundation has programs to teach kids to swim, encourage them to compete, and train beach lifeguards to provide a safe and fun environment.
This event is not only for stingrays, but all swimmers - students, parents, teachers, and coaches! The aim of the stingathon is to swim as many lengths of our 25m pool as possible within the time frame allocated. Swimmers raise money by asking for pledges to support them in their race. Pledges can be made per length or a flat rate donation. Top swimmers in each Stingray team will become coach of the day and receive certificates for the highest donation amount and longest distance.
Swimmers
Record your pledges on the pledge sheet.
All swimmers will need to have a dedicated length counter to keep track of their number of lengths.
Please arrive early to allow time to prepare for your swim. We advise you to bring your own water bottle and keep it on the pool deck to sip on during your swim, please move to the side while taking a water break.
Once the Sting-a-thon is completed all swimmers are responsible for getting the pledge sheet signed by one of our volunteers and then gathering funds to give to Coach Sami before November 6th, 2024.
Stingray teams (Platinum, Gold, and Silver): We will discuss our minimum donation amount and goal distance during training. On the day, each swimmer will have 1hr 15 to 1hr 30 to achieve or exceed their goal.
Non-Stingray Community Swimmers: Set a goal distance and get your pledges!
